Financial institution in Nepal is in the emerging stage. The banking sector is rapidly developing in Nepal. Commercial banks are increasing their customer through their products and services; however, the other financial institutions are on the verge of huge competition. The rules and regulations are matching the international standard while the foreign investments are on the right track for the financial institutions. As we know, to increase the nation’s economy banking sector plays an important role. The banking sector has a higher potential and good scope for career development as a banker.
This report has been prepared as the partial fulfillment of the 8th semester of BBA under TU. The internship is done for 2 months or 8 weeks period in Mega Bank Nepal Limited. An internship is the first step of the learning experience in a work environment after the theoretical knowledge on campus. To develop skills and knowledge internships play a vital role in the further working days. This internship has been completed in the Mega Bank of Narayangarh branch. It was a good opportunity to do an internship at a popular commercial bank in Nepal. MBNL has been one of the most successful banks in the Nepalese banking industry for quite a long time. MBNL holds one of the strongest networks, network in and outside the organization.
Theoretical knowledge is totally different as compared to practical knowledge. The internship at MBNL helped the intern learn several things that matter in corporate life as well as in general life. During the internship, the intern found that customers are the key focus and the greatest asset of the bank. Also working in real-life situations practically is not as simple as we think. Internships play an important role in molding theoretical knowledge into practice. An internship helps to develop various skills and other practical knowledge. Also, the internship managed how to deal with the customers daily, perform activities, handle equipment made, to make good relationships with the customers as well as employees of the bank.
During the whole period of the internship and the preparation of this report, the intern learned a lot about the banking sector and banking operations and about how to deal with customers. The internship was fruitful in many ways to intern. Further, in the past 8 weeks intern learned to work under pressure and broadened his knowledge, vision, ability, and confidence to perform in a real working upbringing. It was a great chance to gain practical knowledge of the banking sector. The supervisor and other senior staff were extremely helpful in guiding our internship program.
Lastly, MBNL is excellent in terms of its services. MBNL is one of the most promising banks today and has an opportunity to increase its market share by improving its customer satisfaction by overcoming its weaknesses and doing its best to retain quality services.
