Practical knowledge and skill are essential in every field. The internship is always a great opportunity for students to get field experience and bridge the gap between practical and theoretical knowledge. The program stimulated creative and critical thinking and helped in developing interpersonal communication skills.

SBL is one of the largest commercial banks in Nepal having the vision to be financially sound, operationally efficient, and keep abreast with technological developments. The intern was placed on CSD which helped to learn and analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the concerned department. The Customer Service Department has broadened the intern’s knowledge, vision, management skills, and confidence to perform in a real working environment.

The internship program also helped me to know how banking laws are implemented in a real working environment. The bank follows CSR activities and values honesty, integrity, and ethics creating opportunities for both the social and economic sectors of the country. The bank also believes in serving valued customers through the quality and advancement of its services nationwide.

During the internship, the intern also learned a lot of other aspects than banking like socializing with people, dealing with senior staff, and also to deal with other inter-colleagues to make the whole environment cozier and friendlier. Having had very little knowledge about banking earlier, the internship helped the intern gain in-depth knowledge about banking and its functions. The internship also taught interns a lesson about the importance of dedication needed for fulfilling responsibilities and the value of time. The overall experience was fruitful as it helped to build up confidence and provided guidelines to choose the right path for a professional career in the future.

Customers have preferred SBL mainly due to its brand image, branch facilities, availability of ATM terminals, and service quality. The opportunity to complete an internship at such a reputed bank in Nepal was a valuable and unforgettable achievement for the intern. The experience of the internship was incredible which boosted my confidence level, enhanced my interpersonal communication skills, and shaped the personality of the intern.
